Finding Solace

Hello Cuckoo’s!

Forgive me for I have sinned. It has been 6 weeks since my last blog! Lot’s to catch up on haven’t we!

First of all, could I just thank everyone both in our community and beyond for the superb support we have received both on the night of the charity evening and following it. We managed to raise over £24,000 on the night and we cannot thank everyone who donated, spent and just attended on the night enough. We have been and continually feel overwhelmed at how everyone got behind us. The work doesn’t stop there as Solace has now been launched into the gin world and will continue to raise money for Jo’s Trust!

I started the charity night extremely nervous. I had the responsibility of being the host for the evening as well as fronting the auction with our Mandy! People will tell you how horizontal i am (much to Mark’s frustration at times) but i was pacing about like it was my wedding day! We did well though and got everyone fired up ready to spend some coin on a great cause! For everyone who donated prizes, we thank you all so much as they were all crackers!

So what have we been up to? I had two weeks off at the beginning of October! Recharging the batteries and gallivanting round Barcelona for a bit! The team were still hard at work in my absence getting solace off the ground and all the finishing touches to the rum signed off too.

It was then time for Mark to have a break. He and Liz enjoyed a well deserved trip to New York! I’ve loved listening to the stories and about the atmosphere of New York and loved even more that our first bottle of Cuckoo Solace is sat behind a bar on 111 E 48th St, go and have one if you are heading there!

We are both now back and getting ready for the lead up to Christmas. We have the biggest show of the year coming up, the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC in Birmingham! This will be our 3rd time here and we are most excited for this one as we have 2 new products to showcase! We’ll be in London a fair bit as well! The capital just can’t get enough of Cuckoo. Two shows to attend; The IFE at the London Excel and Three Wine Men in Victoria!

Closer to home, the distillery is hosting a number of shopping day events leading up to Jesus’s Birthday. Check our website for the dates! These were incredibly popular last year and we expect the same again this year. You’ll find us at Chorley Christmas Markets, Derian House Winter Sparkle in Astley Park and Hoghton Tower Christmas Markets too! What I’m saying is we have made it incredibly easy for you to buy your loved ones Cuckoo!

As we head into the winter period, we are offering a discount on our tours and workshops! Use code 15fromtom on our website to receive this discount and come and enjoy our ever popular distillery experiences!

The next time you hear from me will be after the Good Food Show where i will have loads to tell you of our very busy November! Until then, take care of each other and for god’s sake enjoy yourselves! It’s Christmas (nearly).

Keep smiling
