Virtual Supper Club at Marias accompanied by Cuckoo Gin and Cocktails
*Important Info* – One £60 box will have enough “ingredients” and gin drinks for 2. The bag will include 4 sharing starters, a herb crust and butter to cook along with your choice of protein and vegetables, a tray of delicious Potatoes to pop in the oven and 2 desserts,
We will host a quick Q and A on the night on Zoom, I will help you with any kitchen disasters and Mark and Tom will talk you through drinks.
Although there is everything you will need for your meal for two you will need to buy a few extra ingredients. We have done it this way so that everything is as fresh as can be giving you lots of options to adapt it to your tastes, the box will be vegetarian.
You need to purchase some bread, to eat, dunk, crunch, dip and tear into the starters. You need to buy some lamb, chicken or pork to go with the crumb, some vegetables to toss through with the garlic and watercress butter, this time we are providing the garnishes for the drinks so you just need a big gin glass of course plenty of ice.
Marinated barrel aged Feta – You can’t beat a bit of Greek feta to bring back holiday memories. This iconic cheese has been marinating in rosemary, lemon, oregano, chili and olive oil.
What’s in the box…
Tapenade – Another Greek ingredient, Kalamata olives blitzed to a pulp with lemon, garlic, capers, basil and more olive oil.
Dolmades, vegetarian stuffed vine leaves filled with a simple but mouth watering mix of rice and herbs including a generous amount of oregano.
A small dipping pot of roasted garlic tzatziki to dunk the vine leaves into.
Roast pepper and aubergine souvlaki – well you knew there would be aubergine somewhere. I am taking the essence of a souvlaki dish and turning it into a chunky dip.
In the bag you will get a sourdough and parmesan herb crumb to either sprinkle on Lamb, Chicken or Pork (I recommend a rack of lamb but it will work on shoulder or leg – you will just have to add it about 30 minutes before the end of cooking time). You will get a foil tub of garlic and rosemary potatoes ready to roast, a tub of garlic and watercress butter to stir through some cooked vegetables and a pot of sumptuous gravy. If you are vegetarian you can cook some pasta and run the watercress butter through it, put it in a roasting dish and top with the herb crumb and pop it in the oven for a few minutes to brown.
For pudding we are having two desserts. In your bag you will get some traditional Greek baklava, layers of tender filo pastry with a walnut filling coated in a spiced syrup and of course some meringues kisses and a piping bag full of whipped cream to fill them with.
Tonight’s drinks will be a gin cocktail with a hint of ouzo to bring out the Greekiness, a Signature gin with Mediterranean tonic and a Pink Grapefruit Martini
