I come to you this week from the noble setting of the Hurlingham Club, Fulham, in our nations capital of London. Myself and Mark are at the Telegraph Gin Experience along with 50 other gins, to showcase our portfolio to some very influential people here in the big smoke. This has got to be the poshest event we have done, or that I have certainly done anyway! The building and the grounds are lovely and we consider ourselves very lucky to be here as to be a member at the club, you have to be invited by an existing member and there is still a 30 year waiting list! I think we will stick to local con club!
The whole event was a great success for us. We met some good people and had some brilliant conversations too, once people got past the dulcet northern tones and could understand us! The Drinks Supermarket, who were heading sales at the event showed us just how popular Cuckoo, in particular Sunshine, had been on the purchase stall. So successful that we now may have found a distributer in LONDON! Don’t think Mark has been that happy since Matty Jansen bagged at Preston in 2001 to send Rovers up!
There was a time capsule placed under the entrance in 2004 by Prince Phillip, who is a patron of the club. The capsule is not to be opened until 2104, 100 years! We didn’t get chance to ask what was put in there, but I’d like to think Phil put in some old S Club Junior CD’s and a copy of FIFA Street, both favourite past times of the prince.
We are starting to make some yards in London now with Cuckoo, all 3 events there in the past 2 months have been really worthwhile for us. Next time you hear from me will be at the Lytham & St. Annes Gin Festival next week, we can’t wait for it, looking forward to doing an event up north!
