SLOEDOWN a state of mind born out of Lockdown
When we had to close our community hub at Brindle Distillery during the 2020 Spring lockdown, our team, along with the rest of the world, was forced to step back and slow down (Sloedown).
Inevitably, this resulted in us spending more time with family at home and with our own selves. Looking back, it shouldn’t have taken a global pandemic or Lockdown for us to spend more time with our loved ones. Long walks for our daily exercise and less time being busy fools gave way to a sense of place and a clearer state of mind. As a result of these crazy circumstances it encouraged us to take some positives from a difficult situation and instill new healthy habits into our lives.
Sloedown is about taking a moment for yourself, looking after your wellbeing and spending precious time with your loved ones.
Using our Sunshine Gin – before it’s Honey and Raspberry soak – as a base, we have infused this Limited Edition Cuckoo Gin with Sloeberries picked locally. From Brindle, Wheelton and Whittle-le-Woods, Gaultheria Berries picked from Rivington Terrace Gardens and donated by the Rivington Heritage Society. Blackberries and Honey from our very own bees at Holmes Farm. Still punchy, ‘ginny’ and proper at 39% ABV, the result is a truly handmade Sloe Gin that is honest, local and bursting with autumnal flavour.
Serve a double measure over lots of ice with a good premium Indian or lemon tonic, garnish with your harvested berries and a slice of lemon. Or why not try adding to warmed Ginger Ale. Hunker down, grab a blanket and enjoy some ‘me’ time
Our independent distillery is situated on Holmes Farm. Nestled in the beautiful landscape of rural Lancashire, in the charming, historical village of Brindle.
